ChickyChickys

The ChickyChickys (or sometimes as I like to call them The Cackles) are my small flock of backyard chickens. I should add, my backyard is 10 acres of property, so that’s pretty darn big.

When we bought the property.....I was going to say “bought the farm”, but that’s just the wrong way to phrase it.....we had six chickens left by the previous owner.  We had named them Gandalf, Millie, Lillie, Tillie, Henna, and Pepper. Unfortunately, in March 2019, while we were back in CA four of them were eaten. Likely, this was by coyotes who had pups to feed. It’s nature taking its course, and we had no way to secure the chickens, so it is what it is. Still, I missed Millie (who turned out to be a rooster, so renamed Milton), Lillie, Henna, and Gandalf. The damn cackleheads had grown on me.
